MONTREAT, N.C.— The Montreat men's wrestling put its 4-dual home win streak on the line Saturday morning inside McAlister Gymnasium as the Cavaliers battled both the Brewton-Parker College Barons and the Reinhardt University Eagles. Montreat collected a 35-17 victory over the Barons prior to falling to the 12^th-ranked Eagles by a score of 53-6. With the split, the Cavaliers are now 5-5 overall and 4-5 in Appalachian Athletic Conference bouts.
 
After falling behind thanks to a tech fall, the Cavs rebounded by winning five of the next six bouts to establish a lead. Zeke Grabowski gave the team a lead with his pin at 133 and, although Montreat dropped the 141-lb contest, the Cavaliers triumphed in the ensuing four matchups. Mohamed Ben Hafsia and Easton Griffin both earned decisions, while Taquel Young grabbed a tech fall and the Cavs notched a forfeit to  go up 23-11 with three competitions remaining.
 
Brewton-Parker (3-12, 1-4 AAC) seized a pin at 184, but the home side answered back as Seth Williamson registered a fall of his own at 197 to clinch the match. Grant Trotter then pinned his opponent in 6:10 to finish the 18-point triumph and move the Cavaliers to 5-0 at home.
 
The Cavs saw their win streak inside McAlister stunted at the hands of No. 12-ranked Reinhardt. The Eagles (13-4, 3-1 AAC) captured each of the first four matches by pins to lead 24-0. Following a tech fall at 157, RU added another pair of pins and an injury triumph to extend the advantage to 47.
 
Williamson tallied the lone team points and single win of the match for the Cavaliers by defeating his opponent at 197. The Statesville, N.C. native needed 4:46 to give the Cavs six points with his fall triumph. Despite the individual win, Montreat gave up a pin at 285 in the 53-6 defeat.
 
Men's wrestling now travels to Bluefield for its final AAC dual next Saturday. Matches in Virginia are scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
